Debra Friedkin worked as a Registered Nurse at Montefiore Medical Center for several decades. She pursued her artistic talents on the side, exploring various mediums. She gave up her nursing career to pursue studies at the Art Students League NYC. She mentored privately with Lester Zakarin, an illustrator for Stan Lee Marvel Comics, and T. J. Donleavy, a noted modernist painter and sculptor. Debra is a juried member of the Salmagundi Art Club in NYC, National Association of Women Artists, Audubon Artists, and Williamsburg Art and Historical Center. An award-winning artist, Debra has widely exhibited in museums and galleries across the United States.
