Laurent Casimir (1928–1990, Haiti) gained renown for his vibrant market scene paintings, bathed in a palette of warm reds, oranges, and yellows. In his formative years, Casimir honed his craft at Port-au-Prince's prestigious Centre d'Art and the Foyer des Arts Plastiques during the late 1940s to early 1950s. There, he was mentored by eminent Haitian Master artists. His distinctive style resonates with the essence of Faux Naïf artistry.
