Born in New York City and a former industrial arts educator, Chuck Slaker found his home in Georgia during the mid-1970s. After some career pivoting, he immersed himself within the technology sector--taking a true pandemic to allow his passion for wood to resurface. With nothing but time on his hands, he returned to the lathe. Here Slaker rediscovered the ease at which time passed and a true feeling of peace. Sourcing wood largely from fallen trees, Slaker transforms magnificent large scale remnants into true works of art, only magnifying the natural beauty. Slaker is always looking for differing varieties and exploring new forms.
