The art of Brian Grimm explores the animal world and invites viewers to become immersed. The faithful portrayal of wildlife in Brian's paintings is supported by his years in the field. Strong brushwork, confident style, and attentive editing reflect respect for the animal while also resting on the foundations of design principles.A grandson of German immigrants to Texas, he was born in Bastrop and raised on a nearby farm. He earned a commercial art degree at Austin Community College and learned from a litany of professors at the forefront of the Austin arts scene. After college, he worked as a graphic designer in Austin. He became known for hand lettering and sign painting. His first foray into fine art was at outdoor festivals. He found an audience and gallery representation at his first show. National representation and museum invitations soon followed. His work has traversed the spectrum of Western, plein air, and impressionist art, continuing to grow and innovate while focusing solely on wildlife art for the last 25 years. The landscape supports the wildlife, and weather is a recurring theme. All act in unison. Exhibitions include the National Museum of Wildlife Art, Jackson, WY; the Briscoe Western Art Museum, San Antonio, TX; and the Houston Museum of Natural Science, among others. His paintings are frequently featured on the cover of the Texas Outdoors Journal. In addition, his work can be found in periodicals such as Sporting Classics, Western Art Collector, and Southwest Art Magazine.Brian and his wife live in Fredericksburg, TX overlooking the Hill Country.
