Connor M. O’Brien is a contemporary glass artist whose work explores the dynamic tension between precision and fluidity. Known for his bold forms and intricate surface techniques—such as caning, layering, and carving—O’Brien creates vessels that celebrate the natural beauty and complexity of glass. His vibrant color palette and attention to texture give each piece a sense of depth and energy, making his work both visually striking and universally appealing.O’Brien discovered glassblowing at the age of 14 and has been dedicated to the craft ever since. He earned his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and continued to refine his practice through immersive study at the Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists’ Residency in Saugatuck, Michigan, where he later served as a Teaching Assistant and Studio Technician. Alongside his artistic pursuits, he spent a decade working in Youth Advocacy, using glassblowing as a tool for connection and creativity. He currently lives and works in Bensenville, Illinois, where he operates his own hot and cold glass studio.
