Patti Vincent began painting with the simple desire to be surrounded by oil paintings. What started with workshops and adult education classes became more serious after she earned her Bachelor of Fine Art in 2012. The experience sparked a daily art practice rooted in observation, and a commitment to lifelong learning.Drawing from life remains a cornerstone of her work, whether sketching friends, family, or curious pets. She paints in both oil and gouache, with oil reserved for the studio and gouache as her preferred medium for plein air. Colorado’s landscapes and the presence of her cats often find their way into her subjects.Vincent also teaches drawing and gouache painting, offering both in-person and online classes. Her workshops focus on the practice of daily painting, sometimes in miniature. For her, even a 2 x 2 inch surface is enough to stay grounded in the process and connected to her creative path.
