Driven by his faith and passion, Steve Wohler paints the American landscape with a focus on rural towns, open countryside, and the quiet character of place. Whether painting en plein air or in the studio, he aims to capture a specific time and season with expressive brushwork and a balanced mix of realism and impressionism. His work is guided by a strong sense of light, temperature, and value.Originally from Ohio, Steve began drawing as a child, sketching trucks, cars, and eventually the pastoral scenery he encountered during family visits to Kansas and Tennessee. After years of painting on the side, he left a career in engineering in 2021 to pursue art full-time.His paintings have earned recognition from the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society, and Plein Air Magazine’s Salon Competition.
