Ned Mueller was originally trained as an illustrator and spent over 25 years working in the field. That experience instilled in him the discipline and technical skill to explore a wide range of subjects across various media. His dedication to the craft has earned him the distinction of “Designated Master” with both the American Impressionist Society and the Oil Painters of America. He describes himself as a traditional impressionist and is committed to maintaining high standards in his work. As he often tells his students, “an accomplished painting has an interesting and beautiful arrangement of shapes and colors.” Regardless of subject matter, this is the goal he consistently strives for: to create a strong and thoughtful work of art. Ned has always had a love of travel and a deep curiosity about people and cultures around the world. His paintings are influenced by the diverse landscapes and individuals he encounters, and he feels fortunate to spend his life doing what he truly loves.
