Contemporary landscape artist Brigitte Balbinot grew up in Switzerland. She is a full-timepracticing artist who now works and lives in South Florida. Having both a Swiss and Italianheritage, her solid footprint in the old continent can be observed in her work through thecreation of aged patinas. While predominantly nature inspired, her paintings are drivenby a sense of place whether outward, i.e. nature or within, i.e. meditative. Influenced by thephilosophy of Wabi-Sabi and alluding to life’s impermanence. In her most recent body of works titled EIN SOF, Balbinot showcases a different approach to her work with more structured compositions that can be positioned either vertically (metaphor for the tree of life) or horizontally (metaphor for the landscape). These works are more conceptual and minimalist in nature. As part of her creative process, Balbinot explores the impact of playingvarious Solfeggio frequencies to create pathways while in a state of heart-brain coherence. This can be equated to a deep meditative state during which the subconscious can fully express itself and give free rein to the creative mind.
