Meet Karen Wynne Mackay – a Stittsville-based abstract artist whose vibrant, textured works are all about emotion, movement, and discovery. Blending calligraphic influences with rich layers of colour and mark-making, Karen creates pieces that feel alive and deeply intuitive.Inspired by nature, music, and the places she’s called home—from Montreal and Hudson to Ottawa’s west end—her creative process is a dance of layering, revealing, and refining using handmade tools and mixed media.Her art lives in collections across Canada and the U.S., and even in the Ontario Legislature. Karen’s also a proud member of Galerie Old Chelsea and shares her passion through workshops in abstract art and expressive mark making.
