Joseph Fucigna is a sculptor and installation artist based in Connecticut known for transforming industrial and everyday materials into bold, tactile, and conceptually rich works. Working with materials such as plastic fencing, zip ties, wire mesh, and expanding foam, Fucigna explores themes of containment, transformation, and the tension between control and chaos. His work balances formal rigor with playful experimentation, often blurring the line between the organic and the artificial. Fucigna holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and is a Professor of Art at Norwalk Community College, where he also chairs the Art, Architecture, and Design Department. He has exhibited extensively in the Northeast, including at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Real Art Ways, and the Mattatuck Museum. Fucigna’s work has been featured in numerous public and private collections, and he is widely recognized for his contributions to the Connecticut contemporary art scene.
