“I want my art to be a celebration of life, to stand for the courage to seek happiness in the face of great odds, to show that we must make peace with what little time we have. It is only by finding personal peace that we can put peace back into the world.” Formally studying painting at the New York Studio School from which she graduated in 2007, Susu has garnered numerous awards including the Hohenberg Travel Grant (Italy), Skowhegan School and Paint and Sculpture (full fellowship) and the Masur Museum of Arts 35th Annual Juried Competition (best painting).
