Michael frequently works with markers, color sticks, pastels and paint markers, building layered fields of both bold and feathery marks. While Michael's work may look at first as though it has been "scribbled," his marks are extremely intentional and capture storms of depth and motion in the scenes he chooses to depict, which are often inspired by historical figures and events.
