A lifelong resident of the Kona Coast on Hawaii’s Big Island, Alex draws deep inspiration from the region’s lush landscapes, thriving marine life, and rich cultural heritage. These elements are reflected throughout his dynamic and ever-evolving body of work.With more than 35 years as a professional artist, Alex continues to expand his creative horizons. Influenced early on by his mother, artist Penny Gupton, Alex honed his skills through years of sketching, drawing, and design—building a diverse portfolio that ranges from finely detailed miniatures to expansive murals.In addition to creating original works, Alex has completed an extensive array of private and corporate commissions. His art is featured in galleries across Hawaii and has found homes with collectors around the world.Alex lives and works in a home that overlooks the Kona Coast, where he shares life with his wife Jacqueline, their three children, and two beloved cats—all of whom bring inspiration to his artistic journey.
