Artist Statement / BioArt has been my passion since childhood. It was always my favourite subject in school and became the focus of my academic journey at York University in Toronto, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in art, film, and music, followed by a Bachelor of Education.I went on to teach art at both the elementary and high school levels with the North York and Grey County school boards.For many years, I painted landscapes in oil, but it was a photograph of a fox that inspired me to paint an animal for the first time—and that painting still holds a special place on my website.Soon after, a few friends asked me to paint portraits of their "grand dogs," and I happily agreed. From that moment on, pet portraiture became my calling. I haven’t looked back since!
