Brooke Reid is an artist working in installation and photography, based in Atlanta, GA. After graduating from Bryn Mawr College in 2011 with a BA in Printmaking, her career has consisted of floral design, prop styling, window display and installation--all of which inform her current artistic practice. Her work is inherently narrative: she is drawn to materials that are in their own process of decay, that represent a singular place in time. She builds large scale still life installations, which she then photographs in an attempt to capture something fleeting. She works alongside her husband, cinematographer Kyler Dennis, who lights the still lifes to impart a painterly feel to the work. The resulting images blur the lines between installation, photography, and painting, providing a glimpse into her imagined worlds.
