Resh Ramrattan is a Guyanese-born artist specializing in abstract pointillism. Now based in Florida, she holds a B.A. in Art + Design from Nova Southeastern University and an M.P.S. in Design Management from Pratt Institute. Her work offers a visual counterpoint to the fast, chaotic rhythm of modern life. Using a meticulous dot-by-dot process, Ramrattan creates paintings that feel both intricate and overwhelming up close, yet calming and spacious from a distance.The process itself is central to her practice. Each piece is built slowly and deliberately, with layers of hand-applied dots forming a visible record of time and intention. The labor-intensive nature of the work invites viewers to not only observe the finished image but also to recognize the patience, care, and repetition behind it.Ramrattan’s paintings serve as visual pauses—reminders to slow down and notice the small, often overlooked moments in life. Through each piece, she invites viewers to experience both the intensity and stillness of the present moment—simultaneously disorienting and meditative.
