Artist Bio Kevin Long has been making collages since his freshman year of collegeback in the late '90s when he started cutting up magazines and stickingimages on his wall without knowing what he was doing and for no particularreason. Though a mere English major who went on to earn master'sdegrees in creative writing and counseling with no formal art training, Kevinexhibits a flair for collage.In 2021, after experiencing a no-fun testicular cancer diagnosis early on inthe midst of pandemic isolation, he started collaging in earnest to lift hisspirits and soon enough became quite the paper surgeon, working almostexclusively with paper media.In the spring of 2025, he had his first exhibition at the Sid Jacobson JewishCommunity Center in East Hills, New York after a friend went behind hisback and him to the curator. He framed and installed 72 collages with allsales going to the cancer support center over there. He sold over 40pieces, raising $7500. He did too good a job installing his exhibit and wassubsequently hired to install all future exhibits at that JCC.He recently submitted to an exhibition call for the first time, and a piece ofhis was selected to be among the 60 artworks (out of 685 submitted)featured in the 62nd Long Island Artists Exhibition at the Art League ofLong Island. One for one!Kevin resides in Sea Cliff, Long Island where he has an upcoming three-part workshop at the local library designed to groom neophytes into scissorwizards. He enjoys playing mah jong, drinking decaf, and spending time withhis schnauzer.
