Joël Dabin was a French painter who was born in 1933 in Pallet in Loire-Atlantique, France. In the 1950s he became interested in Abstract Expressionism and the action painting of the New York School. Over the years, he became a painting of the movement. Throughout his career he exhibited at a variety of galleries all over the world and his work is in a number of French institutions. His compositions always served this idea of movement. In terms of colors, he worked with all color harmonies, with a preference for blue and warm tones. He primarily used oil paint and only used acrylic incidentally for backgrounds. He passed away on November 7th, 2003 in Nantes, France.
