Amanda Roberts is currently studying Studio Art at Michigan State University with plans to finish her undergraduate degree in the spring of 2026. She specializes in representational painting/sculpture that explores the connections between gender performance and environment, as well as the connections between the body and gender dysmorphia. Her pieces are inspired by her experiences as a queer woman, as well as theories on gender and sexuality which she has studied in her minor at MSU, Women’s and Gender Studies. Amanda has also been involved in several exhibitions in the Lansing area, and has received an Honorable Mention award for her piece, “Circus Freak,” in the 2025 Department of Art, Art History, and Design Undergraduate Exhibition in April, 2025. After receiving her undergraduate degree, she plans to pursue a higher education to further her studies in both painting and sculpture.
