Fiona Whitehouse is known for her sensitive and observational approach to landscape, particularly trees. She uses a layered mixed media technique to capture the play of light and season. Her practice is rooted in direct experience of place, allowing her paintings to evoke both stillness and slow transformation.Fiona has exhibited widely in the UK and has developed a recognized practice, with her work held in private collections globally.She studied Fine Art and Italian at the University of Exeter and painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. She also completed a master’s degree at the University of Oxford and was awarded a PhD on 15th-century painting techniques from Birkbeck College, London.
