Ashley Perez is a multidisciplinary artist based in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Working primarily in ceramics, she creates sculptural and functional stoneware pieces by hand, favoring soft, organic forms and a balance of calming neutrals with punchy color. Whether minimalist or bold, her work leans into playfulness and soothing simplicity—what she affectionately calls “dopamine decor.” A longtime writer and storyteller, Ashley brings a deep curiosity and emotional lens to her creative process. Her practice is shaped by intuition, contrast, and texture—exploring the tension between control and spontaneity, restlessness and calm. Many of her forms echo natural landscapes and emotional states, often drawing inspiration from the ocean, movement, and the unseen forces that shape us. Ashley came to ceramics later in life after being diagnosed with ADHD and PTSD—experiences that became a catalyst for reconnecting with herself through creativity. Art became a lifeline for healing and self-discovery, allowing her to unmask and embrace who she is more fully and unapologetically. A five-time published author and marketing professional, she now creates from her home studio by the coast, blending storytelling, emotion, and form. Each piece is intentionally one-of-a-kind, inviting quiet contemplation, joy, and a celebration of the beauty found in imperfection.
