Borowski Art Glass—or Glasstudio Borowski—was founded in 1990 by Stanisław Borowski (born 1944 in Moûtiers, France), a celebrated figure in the European studio-glass movement for his engraved glass sculptures and unique cameo techniques. Starting from modest beginnings in Poland, he created engraved, figurative glass works with surreal and fantastical imagery—often reflecting existential themes and political allegory. In 1993, Stanisław’s sons—Pawel (born 1969) and Stani Jan (born 1981), along with Wiktor—assumed leadership of the studio. Today, the studio in Poland employs around 14 artisans and embraces virtually all known hot and cold glass-processing techniques, enabling vibrant experimentation across engraved artworks, blown objects, and sculptural installations.Borowski develops three primary lines: the Artist Editions (one-of-a-kind engraved sculptures by Stanisław and his sons), the Studio Line (colorful bowls, vases, lamps, and paperweights), and the Outdoor Objects—whimsical, weatherproof installations inspired by animals, insects, and playful forms . Their work is instantly recognizable for bold colors, expressive forms, and storytelling through glass—combining craftsmanship, whimsy, and life‑affirming joy.Borowski glass is featured in galleries and collections around the world, including the prestigious Corning Museum of Glass in New York and several European glass museums . Their enchanting sculptures—ranging from playful frogs and birds to odd insects and fantastical creatures—have been exhibited at venues such as Chester Cathedral and design fairs internationally, celebrated for transforming environments into magical realms.
