FloridaBoca Raton Museum Art School As a metalsmith, I find my greatest resonance working with sterling silver, though I also incorporate copper, gold, and bronze into my work. I studied at the Boca Raton Museum Art School, where I had the privilege of learning from master jewelers whose influence still resonates in my work. Each piece I create is fabricated by hand, built one at a time from start to finish. Sometimes I work directly with sheet and wire; other times I smelt and roll my own. At the heart of my process are genuine, unique stones. They are the inspiration for my designs, and I consider Mother Nature the ultimate artist. Guiding her gemstones into wearable form feels natural—an effortless collaboration between earth and hand. My journey as an artist began in childhood, influenced by my mother, an oil painter who favored organic surfaces, and by the community of artists she surrounded herself with. Art has always been my livelihood in one form or another, but since 2004 I have dedicated myself fully to metalsmithing. For the past five years, Michelle Corbitt has joined me as an apprentice. She has mastered the art of chain making and now brings my designs to life with skill and care. Together we make a strong team, united by a shared dedication to craftsmanship and beauty. Fabrication is deeply satisfying to me, and I hope that those who take home my work feel not only its beauty but also the intention I weave into it: a sense of healing, love, and connection.
