Born in California and raised in Iran during a time of political unrest, Negin found refuge in painting at the age of nine. Though she began on a path toward medicine, her passion for art led her to the University of Fine Arts in Tehran. Negin’s work is inspired by modern masters such as Picasso, Chagall, Paul Klee, and Basquiat, as well as ancient visual languages, particularly the pottery of Susa I (4200–3500 BCE). While teaching at Tehran’s Museum of Ancient Arts and Potteries, she drew from the stylized animal figures and geometric patterns of ancient pottery, which continue to influence her artistic language. Her studies also explored the bold abstraction of African art, further deepening her visual vocabulary. Now based in Los Angeles, California, Negin has exhibited her work throughout the West Coast and the Middle East. Her current series, “Whispers of Nature”, explores the quiet power of ancient forms, spiritual instinct, and nature’s unseen energy. Her work offers a place of calm, hope, and connection in today’s complex world.
