Artist Statement The tender moments portray me suspended in time, capturing whatremains after a moment has passed. The moments, both fleeting and formative, continue to shape the way I understand myself and my connections with others. The figurative sculpture evokes feelings exploring the dualities of belonging andisolation, hope and despair, and love and loss. It offers a subtle exploration of theinternal and external forces that influence and define my life, transcendingindividual perspective. The partial and incomplete figures symbolize the remnantsof memory, embodying fragments of a moment. The fragments capture anabundance of a connection or the absence of it.By juxtaposing human ephemerality with the permanence suggested byceramic sculpture, the work reflects the fragility and enduring resonance ofinteractions both with others and within oneself. The partial and enduring bodiesin my work mirror the way memory functions: fractured, selective, andemotionally charged. Through this lens, the fragments do more than representloss; they offer presence and a sense of connection that transcends time.My artistic process reflects a desire to preserve and honor these emotionalremnants. By capturing what remains, whether a gesture, a shadow of touch, or atrace of presence, I create objects that carry commemorative weight. Each piecebecomes a physical artifact of memory, a quiet monument to a lived experienceor feeling. While rooted in personal narrative, my work is intentionally ambiguous, inviting viewers to engage and complete the composition through their ownperspectives and personal interpretations. I aim to foster a sense of sharedhumanity, inviting viewers to complete the work through their own emotionallens.
