I work with inks which are frequently used for calligraphy and illustration. Once mixed with water, they can have the feel of watercolor. When dry, they are lightfast and waterproof. The inks’ movement on the canvas is a function of both surface tension and gravity. I work with the inks with this knowledge but, in practice, each painting evolves…both intentionally and unintentionally.
