Richard Coren is a Rhode Island-based artist specialized in local land- and cityscapes. Richard received his Master’s Degree in Painting from Rhode Island College and alongside his studio practice, has spent decades as a graphic designer and marketing specialist. His work is representational in nature, however envisioned through a discerning lens, rendering form, light, and shadow as dynamic interplays of positive and negative. His subject matter spans across buildings with figures occupying public spaces, always with a sense of solitude and reflection, toward capturing a feeling, mood, a fleeting moment at once curious and familiar. Richard’s work has been exhibited widely and included in a roster of juried exhibitions at the New Haven Paint and Clay Club, the Rockport Art Association, Spring Bull Gallery in Newport, RI, and with the Annual New England Fine Arts Exhibition of Traditional Realism.
