Most days you can find Meg Lagodzki painting out in the woods or in one of the ubiquitous limestone quarries in the midwest’s Bloomington, Indiana region. Long using oils on canvas, she experimented with a series of acrylic works that are collaged from hand-painted paper, with stunning results. Her vivid capture of a split tree trunk in "Lightning Strike” and her velvet moss carpeted forest floor gives rise to the base of a tree that staggers in color and form. Lagodzki earned a BFA in painting from St. Mary's College and an MA in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her latest work examines the local landscape, where she draws on observational study of landscapes around her home and its environs. Her work is in private collections countrywide.
