"I consider myself an abstract artist and love bright colors, contrast and textures. My process might start out with a certain intent, but it can also change along the way. I start by picking a pallet of colors and go from there. I use many layers of paint, mediums, tools and collage to build up my work and then often sand them down to revel secrets that have been previously covered over. I love large, bold brush strokes contrasted with discrete mark making. Although much of my work is truly abstract ,many times the landscapes and nature in my memories peek through. I paint for myself and for you as well...it gives me comfort and a bit of an escape from the craziness of the world. I hope you also enjoy my work." Originally from the Chicago area, Kristine a self-taught artist and has thoroughly enjoyed the self-exploratory road she continues to travel down. Now that she is retired and living in Santa Rosa Beach, FL with her husband Patrick, she is excited to reveal more about herself in this journey and becoming more involved in the local art community. Kristine holds a position on the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation Board of Directors in Destin and is also a contributing member of the Cultural Arts Alliance in Santa Rosa Beach.
