Mia Weiner is a textile artist whose work explores identity, gender, and the psychology of human relationships through tapestry. Engaging in a dialogue with historical textiles, she creates intimate declarations that merge tradition and contemporaneity. Each piece is meticulously hand-woven in her Los Angeles studio, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and a sensitive approach to the material. She holds an MFA in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2020) and a BFA in Fiber from the Maryland Institute College of Art (2013). In 2024, she was awarded the VA Parasol Prize by the Victoria Albert Museum and the Parasol Foundation. Her work has been exhibited in various institutions and collections, solidifying her place in the contemporary textile and narrative art landscape. Mia Weiner est une artiste textile dont le travail explore l’identité, le genre et la psychologie des relations humaines à travers la tapisserie. S’inscrivant dans le dialogue avec le textile historique, elle compose des déclarations intimes où se mêlent tradition et contemporanéité.
