For over 45 years, Ruby Mazur’s bold and influential art has captivated audiences and collectors around the world. We are proud to exhibit the work of this groundbreaking artist, whose career helped shape the visual language of rock ‘n’ roll. Born in Brooklyn, Mazur made his mark early—at just 21, he became Art Director for Paramount Records and received a Grammy nomination for his album design for CrowFoot. By 1971, he had launched his own creative agency with offices in New York, Los Angeles, and London, collaborating with industry giants like EMI, Warner Brothers, Atlantic, and MCA. Perhaps most iconic is Mazur’s legendary “Mouth and Tongue” design, originally featured on The Rolling Stones’ Tumbling Dice single sleeve. This now-global symbol is just one of the more than 3,000 album covers he’s created for musical legends including Elton John, Billy Joel, Ray Charles, Sarah Vaughan, Van Morrison, Jim Croce, Jimmy Buffett, and B.B. King. His work has also appeared on major film soundtracks such as Love Story, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Malcolm X, and Lenny Bruce. Now based in Maui, Ruby Mazur continues to pour his passion into painting full-time. We are honored to share his vibrant, rebellious spirit with collectors and fans alike.
