Allie Friedman is a Houston, Texas-based ceramic artist who established her studio, House of Savage, in 2023. She earned a finance degree from the University of Colorado and following a career as a financial planner for a wealth management firm and as a capital formation analysis at a corporate real estate firm, decided to pursue a childhood love for painting and craft, inspired by her own mother’s art business.Each piece is handmade and meticulously crafted by Allie. Her cigarettes, ashtrays, and miniature furniture sculptures evoke the mundane, quotidian habits of everyday life, however envisioned through Allie’s uniquely “savage” viewpoint. No two works are alike and bespoke projects are always welcome. Her practice is centered in creating one-of-a-kind pieces that uphold the touch, expertise, and unique gesture of the artist’s hand. Her "dopamine decor" embraces challenges, mistakes, and most of all, the savage.
