Born and raised in Crested Butte, Colorado ~ and now established in Fort Collins, CO, Clint is a self-taught painter and creates both traditional and Tiered abstract paintings. His work consists of figures and forms often combined with words that he resonates with while creating each piece. Playing with the idea of human features, many of the figures he creates are haunting, enchanting, and captivating to quiz the mind about what it means to be human. Each piece is filled with commanding chaos that draws the eye in to find something new at each glance. Clint focuses on the sense of being free in his life and his paintings are an excellent example of freedom in the world of art itself. He knows he has reached this point when it continues to stimulate critical thinking and/or arouse at least a little sensation of unknowing in his. Artist Statement: "I'm fascinated by the human condition, which is why I paint race-neutral people and often choose philosophical, poetic, and/or social commentary subject matter. I satisfy my affinity for abstraction with my backgrounds, while satiating my need for figurative, drawing, and writing with my foregrounds. My layering technique failures have indeed helped me see myself. I see that I'm now free - excited and free to make new mistakes to reach levels."
