Marcos Acosta (b. 1980, Argentina) is an internationally recognized artist whose work explores the intersection between humanity and the natural world. His paintings and drawings combine dramatic landscapes with abstract forms, capturing both the vitality and fragility of our connection to nature. Acosta studied at the University of Córdoba, earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2003 under Argentinian master Carlos Peiteado. While his practice spans traditional mediums such as drawing, engraving, and sculpture, as well as contemporary forms like video and installation, painting and drawing remain the foundation of his work. Growing up near the Sierras de Córdoba in central Argentina, his dramatic depictions of canyons and jagged mountain peaks are often interrupted by abstract lines—markers of our contemporary presence within timeless landscapes. Curvilinear forms echo the surrounding natural environment, while bold, bright zips of colors convey the joy, exhilaration, and vitality of these encounters, all while hinting at the fragile balance between humans and nature. With over 35 solo exhibitions and participation in more than 120 group shows across Latin America, Europe, and the United States, Acosta’s work has been featured at major art fairs including Art Miami, ArteBA, SWAB Barcelona, and Antwerp Art Fair. His pieces are held in private collections across Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Costa Rica, the United States, Spain, France, England, Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, as well as in prominent public collections such as the Palacio Nacional de las Artes Palais de Glace (Buenos Aires), Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes Emilio Caraffa (Córdoba), and Museu do Ingá (Brazil), among many others. Now based in Denver, Colorado, Acosta continues to expand his career in the Northern Hemisphere while remaining deeply connected to the natural and cultural landscapes that have shaped his artistic vision.
