Gabija Pritkovaitė is a painter born in 1998. She lives and works in Vilnius, Lithuania. From 2018 to 2024, she completed her BA and MA studies in Painting at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. She is among the young contemporary artists actively participating in various exhibitions and competitions. In her work, she questions our state of being in today’s world by creating images that evoke a sense of familiarity yet remain impossible to trace. These images explore painting as a medium of memory—constantly re-examining itself on the optically illusory surface of the canvas. At the same time, the painted surface conveys a sense of time, situating us in reality and in relation to ourselves.
