Peter Walsh (b. 1962) is an artist based in Brooklyn, New York, working across painting, video installation, street performance, experimental film, writing, and curating. His work explores public space, societal structures, the body, economics, and urban life. Most recently, he has returned to painting, critically engaging with emerging AI technologies—responding to them, but refusing to use them. Over the past thirty years, Walsh’s projects have been presented in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Great Britain, and Slovenia, with site-specific works staged in Central Park (NYC), Hyde Park (London), and San Juan (PR). His work is held in both private and institutional collections. He was a co-founder of the Baltimore-based arts journal Link and a Writing Live fellow with Performa in 2009. He has received numerous grants and awards, including one of the final NEA artist fellowships in 1995.
