Born and raised in Colorado, Melissa's love for art and nature began at an early age. She found inspiration in the wildlife near her home and throughout the mountainous states. Her talent for sculpting was also nurtured by her parents, who are established artists. However, she is largely self-taught.Her work consists of wildlife and figurative sculpture, ranging from desktop to larger than life size. In each piece, one sees her natural ability to capture the spirit and emotion of her subject."When I'm in the studio sculpting, I love it. I have the best job in the world," she proclaims, adding that she remains involved in virtually every aspect of the bronze process. "Now I thrive on it. When it's your own art, it's completely different."
