MIXED MEDIA MIAMI, USA Brendan Murphy (B 1971 - ) is a world-renowned artist who was born in Bloomington, Indiana but grew up in Providence, R.I. His artistic career began in New York City, where he mentored under New York’s most iconic painters - Eric Fischl, David Salle, and Ross Bleckner. Their influence is evident in Brendan’s command of color and experimentation with form. Brendan’s style is a dynamic mix of the abstract and figurative and all his works - both paintings and sculptures - maintain a consistent exploration of color, language, and symbols. Thematically, he explores the interplay of beauty, power, and the need to understand the energies of life. Brendan believes it is in art’s potential where we can most universally transmit positive energy. He recognizes the effect this energy, when experienced as a collective, can have on society as a whole. Brendan’s works can be found in prominent private collections around the world. Famous collectors include Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Larry Page, Warren Buffett, Grant Cardone among many others. He is also the leading contemporary artist in large-scale public installations, like the 22ft Boonji Spaceman, which can be found all over the world. Murphy is driven by evoking the feeling of “WOW” in the viewers of his work and is considered to be one of the most visionary artists of his generation. In 2021, Brendan founded the Boonji Project and did his first NFT drop of the Boonji Avatars. It became the biggest NFT primary sale in history. He is also the man behind the “Frozen with Desire” sculpture. A 42” spaceman covered in 6,200 responsibly sourced diamonds with a total weight of 517-carats.
