Dierdre Patterson is a self-taught abstract artist based in Tacoma, Washington. Working primarily in painting and sculpture, her intuitive process allows form and color to unfold naturally—guided by movement rather than pre-sketched composition. Each work emerges as a conversation between structure and emotion, exploring rhythm, proportion, and balance through a language of joy, warmth, and calm. A 2025 Neddy Award finalist, Patterson’s practice extends beyond the studio as co-founder of @con__cept, a creative agency amplifying Black and Brown creators through strategy, exhibitions, and special projects. Her work has been featured in national brand collaborations, public art initiatives, and publications including Essence and Abstract Magazine.
