“My intention in life is to travel for inspiration, be minimalist in my approach to living and create art that enhances and heals people’s lives from wherever I am at in the world” Mary Scrimgeour enjoys creating a variety of different images. She draws inspiration from the many things she has done throughout her life. Graphic design, clothing design and even nursing all bring to her work different elements of whimsey, compassion and character.Born in Ohio and raised in Colorado she has recently become more nomadic. She and her husband spend time on the Gulf coast of Florida, Tuscon and Colorado, creating art wherever they are. Her work has been collected extensively over the years and is in numerous national collections. One of her happiest achievements is in two large collections.
