Jamila is quiet and extremely focused when working in the studio, carefully planning and constructing her compositions until she feels they’re just right. Her work shares the diversity of her interests, showcasing her love for travel, baseball, and nature. Jamila’s compositions are formed from vibrant shapes of watercolor that she defines with dense outlines in black ink. This step of building up her outlines is important to her, and sometimes the outlines grow to be as significant as the shapes they enclose. Jamila has loved making art since she was a kid. When she’s not spending time with her family and beloved dog, she likes to explore different mediums. Jamila hopes people see the dedicated effort she puts into her work and how happy it makes her.
