Mirabo Press is an independent, fine art printmaking studio and gallery located in North Buffalo, New York. Founded in 2018 by artists Bob Fleming, Rachel Shelton, and Mizin Shin, the studio occupies a spacious 6,700-square-foot facility dedicated to expanding the local art scene through collaboration, education, and technical innovation. Mirabo Press bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary practice, offering professional-grade services for artists at all career stages. Contract & Collaborative Printing: The studio specializes in producing museum-quality, hand-pulled limited editions for individual artists, galleries, and institutions. Artist Residencies: Mirabo hosts both self-funded and fully funded Artist Residencies, providing creators with the space and master-printer expertise needed to develop ambitious new work. Community Education: From Small-Batch Workshops to one-on-one instructional programs, the studio offers hands-on training in various media for both beginners and experienced makers. Gallery & Exhibitions: The on-site gallery space showcases contemporary print-based work, hosting exhibitions that highlight the diverse possibilities of the medium. Specialized FacilitiesHoused in a former industrial building, the studio is equipped with large-format machinery, including a 44" x 84" Takach etching press and vertical-lift screen presses. Their technical capabilities include: Intaglio & Relief: Etching, linocut, and woodblock. Screen Printing: Large-scale exposure and printing for fine art and wearables. Monotype & Hybrid Processes: Painterly monotypes and projects combining digital techniques with traditional methods. Specialty Equipment: Facilities for kiln work, 2D enameling, and ventilated spray booths. Mirabo Press is built on the belief that printmaking is a democratic and socially transformative medium. By fostering a vibrant ecosystem of artists and community partners, the studio aims to make high-quality art production accessible and inclusive, supporting the creative growth of Western New York and beyond.
