Lisa Warren’s work explores the ephemeral beauty of light and its interplay with the natural world. Working primarily in watercolor and gouache on paper, she captures fleeting moments—sunlight filtering through leaves, shifting sunsets, and the delicate balance of color and form in nature. Her subjects, often trees, flowers, and organic shapes, invite reflection on the quiet, transient beauty that surrounds us. Warren received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and an MFA from Yale University. She has participated in residencies at Skowhegan, Yaddo, Hambidge, VCCA, and DNA, and her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions, including shows at Standard Space Gallery in Sharon, CT, and Greenwich, CT. Beyond painting, Warren draws inspiration from walking, meditation, and yoga, practices that deepen her connection to the natural world and inform her mindful approach to capturing light, color, and form.
