Stephen Wysocki is a painter whose work celebrates the beauty found in the ordinary. He is drawn to everyday structures and forgotten objects, using color and shadow to transform them into scenes filled with life and contrast. Through his paintings, Wysocki invites viewers to see familiar places in a new light, discovering meaning and vitality in what is often overlooked.Much of his inspiration comes from painting outdoors, where he observes light, atmosphere, and color firsthand. Working in a loose, spontaneous style, he often uses a wet-on-wet technique that allows the paint to guide his process. His focus is on mood and feeling rather than precision, creating works that balance freedom with intention.Wysocki studied at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, Nicolet College, and the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts. His work is held in the permanent collections of the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay and Bay College in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He continues to paint while also working with his family at the Armstrong Creek Bison Ranch.
