Combining her passion for colour and pattern with light gifted by her chosen material, Wiberley's intention is to create glass pieces that express the energies and the flow of our lives. By utilising this visual language, carving through layers of coloured glass in bold, shifting patterns, her work intends to direct our focus inwards. She utilises different glass engraving techniques to achieve a variety of opacities of glass and colour. Our emotions tint the way we see the world. Our perceptions are marred by their inevitable presence. From a bolt out of the blue to the green eyed monster, rose tinted glasses to seeing red; these tints have different hues.Sarah began glassmaking in 2001 during her studies at The Surrey Institute of Art and Design, graduating with 1st class honours 3D Design; Glass in 2004. It was during this time she began to discover her love of combining imagery with glass forms. She went on to work for a number of glass studios honing her craft before embarking on a masters degree at The Royal College of Art, graduating in 2011 from the Ceramics and Glass department. Here she had the opportunity to combine her own style with the skills she had learnt over the previous years. Sarah continues to develop work in her London based studio.
