Patricia Cochran captures the magical essence of her world through a variety of artistic mediums. After years devoted to two-dimensional work, she began creating small sculptural figures composed of found materials. These works evoke echoes of forgotten peoples, rituals, and relics—inviting viewers to pause and engage in quiet, personal reflection amid the pace of modern life.A retired art and literature teacher, Cochran lives on a farm in Oregon’s fertile Tualatin Valley, where her surroundings continue to inspire her creativity. Her work has been juried into exhibitions at the Portland Art Museum, the Coos Bay Art Museum, and numerous solo and group shows throughout Oregon and Montana. In 2005, she was commissioned by the Welsh Pony & Cob Society of America to paint an oil portrait of a Welsh stallion for its Centennial celebration; the piece now hangs in their national office in Virginia as part of the permanent collection.
