Nanci is a professional artist residing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She has been an oil painter since 2009 and in 2014 participated in her first local plein air event. She became a member of the Baton Rouge Plein Air group in 2018 which led to her first juried national event in 2022. Nanci continues to participate in juried and non-juried plein air competitions across the United States in various states including Colorado, Idaho, Virginia, Florida and more. She is a member of the America Impressionist Society and has been juried into numerous AIS exhibitions. Nanci prefers painting in nature from life as she feels that the whole experience becomes an integral part of the paintings she creates. She continues to be inspired by community, history, travel, and most importantly, the landscape. Nanci is a member of the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, Baton Rouge Plein Air, Outdoor Painters Society (TX), the Art Guild of Louisiana, and Associated Women in the Arts. Nanci teaches private lessons as well as workshops on topics including color mixing and the alla prima approach to painting. 2025 Plein Air Events include: Plein Air West Reading; Driggs Plein Air Festival; Blowing Rock Plein Air; Suffolk Plein Air Festival; Paint The Town Mississippi; and Plein Air Fairhope.
