My goal is to create images with my paintings that beckon the observer to step closer and see the beauty and expressive use of rich, lovely color that flows throughout my work. I work with both pastels and oils. Fueled by beauty and vibrancy, my art is an expression of my love for nature, things that bud, grow, then die…each stage rendering “new eyes” and feelings. I paint – how and what I feel and see. Born and raised in Denver, I have been painting for nearly three decades. I am an active member of the Pastel Society of America, the Pastel Society of Colorado, and the Art Students League of Denver. I have studied at The Rocky Mountain School of Art and Design as well as with many exceptional fine artists including: Quang Ho, Kang Cho, Albert Handell, Michelle Torrez, Lorenzo Chavez, Doug Dawson, Desmond O’Hagen and Kevin Weckbach. As an art teacher for over 30 years, I regularly hold workshops – the Art of the Flower –throughout the United States. I also thoroughly enjoy teaching private lessons to individuals and small groups, and providing demonstrations to a variety of art organizations, groups, events, and galleries.
