Alex Rasmussen’s work traverses the boundary between sculpture and design. For the past thirty years, he has worked as a highly successful and sought after industrial designer of luxury furniture and architectural features as well as case designs for all manner of devices. He is also the third-generation of Rasmussens to helm Neal Feay–a cutting edge aluminum design and fabrication company in Goleta, California widely known for its prowess with Anofax aluminum anodization as well as for its cutting edge use of computer aided design and manufacturing. In particular, they are recognized pioneers for their color work, though they are just likely to be contracted today for their sophisticated design and inspired engineering. Over his career, he has been invited to collaborate on design and manufacture for other luminaries such as: DESIGNJony Ive, Marc Newson, Thierry Gaugain, Eugeni Quitlett, Holly Hunt, David Weeks ARCHITECTURE / DESIGNFoster + Partners, Shubin Donaldson, Zaha Hadid Architects, Rafael de Cardenas, William Hefner, Johanna Grawunder and Appleton Architects FASHION / DESIGNNoe Duchaufour Lawrence and Guillaume Delvigne (Hermès), Louis Vuitton, Kenzo, and Opening Ceremony ART / DESIGNPeter Alexander, Miya Ando, David Flores, Gary Lang, John Millei, Laurie Frick, and Mary Heebner
